LIDDELL INJURED; UFC 85 FIGHT AGAINST EVANS CANCELLED

by Ariel Helwani, MMARated.com

MMARated.com has learned that Chuck Liddell recently injured himself and will not be fighting Rashad Evans at UFC 85 at the 02 Arena London, England, on June 7. No word on the extent of the injury and how long he will be out but plans are for both men to face each other later in the summer.

Liddell was originally supposed to face Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in the main event of UFC 85, however, Rua ruptured his ACL for the second time in a year and was forced to back out of the fight. Evans, originally slated to face Thiago Silva, was then put in as his replacement.

An official announcement by the UFC has yet to be made. No word on whether Rashad Evans will still be competing on the card.

Updated UFC 85 lineup:
  • Brandon Vera vs. Fabricio Werdum
  • Thales Leites vs. Nate Marquardt
  • Martin Kampmann vs. Jorge Rivera
  • Marcus Davis vs. Mike Swick
Preliminary Card:
  • Roan Carneiro vs. Ryo Chonan
  • Luiz Cane vs. Jason Lambert
  • Thiago Tavares vs. Matt Wiman
  • Jess Liaudin vs. Paul Taylor
  • Antoni Hardonk vs. Neil Wain

that would be the dumbest mistake for chuck to fight kimbo

I don't know about you guys but I think this card is pretty good. The fight of the night will go to Marcus Davis and Mike "Quick" Swick. This fight is a battle of two really good stand up fighters. Though Davis has more power in his hands Swick is smart and fast. Davis wins via TKO.
